Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Bicycle Mechanic and Bike Technician for a local bicycle shop. Previous bicycle repair experience is highly valued, but candidates with strong hands-on mechanical ability may also be considered.
Mechanical backgrounds involving farm equipment, agriculture, small engines, automotive repair, equipment assembly, or similar work can translate well. The right person will be comfortable using tools, diagnosing mechanical problems, and learning bicycle-specific systems.
What You Will Do
- Assemble, inspect, maintain, and repair bicycles
- Complete tune-ups and safety inspections
- Repair and adjust brakes, chains, gears, and drivetrains
- Replace tires, tubes, cables, bearings, and worn components
- Diagnose performance problems and determine needed repairs
- Make accurate mechanical adjustments
- Use bicycle tools and general hand tools safely
- Maintain organized parts, tools, and repair workspaces
- Communicate repair findings and completed work clearly
- Verify that bicycles are safe and operating properly before completion
What We Are Looking For
- Previous bicycle mechanic or bike shop experience is preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude may substitute for direct bicycle experience
- Farm, agricultural equipment, small engine, automotive, or hands-on repair experience is valuable
- Ability to use hand tools accurately
- Patience with detailed adjustments and troubleshooting
- Strong attention to safety and finished quality
- Genuine interest in learning bicycle repair and maintenance
