Get out of the same four shop walls and solve diesel equipment problems where they happen.
Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Mobile Diesel Mechanic and Roadside Service Technician. Most of this position involves responding to roadside breakdowns, diagnosing equipment problems, and completing repairs that can safely be handled in the field.
When roadside calls are slower, the technician may complete shop repairs, organize equipment, or pull parts needed for upcoming service work. This position includes weekday on-call responsibilities and an every-other-weekend on-call rotation.
What You Will Do
- Respond to roadside diesel and commercial vehicle breakdowns
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in the field
- Complete safe roadside repairs within the scope of the service call
- Determine when equipment requires towing or additional shop repair
- Perform diesel repair and maintenance work in the shop as needed
- Pull, prepare, and organize parts for service calls
- Maintain tools, service equipment, and an organized work area
- Communicate repair findings and service needs clearly
- Document completed repairs and parts used
- Follow roadside safety and traffic awareness procedures
What We Are Looking For
- Previous diesel, truck, trailer, heavy equipment, or fleet repair experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Basic diesel electrical diagnostic ability
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving habits
- Personal set of diesel mechanic tools
- Ability to work independently during mobile service calls
- Ability to participate in weekday on-call coverage
- Availability for an every-other-weekend on-call rotation
