Position Overview
A high-volume food service operation is hiring an experienced Catering Chef to prepare grilled meats, sauces, and meals for large groups. This is a fast-paced, physically active kitchen where cooks remain on their feet throughout the shift. Schedules vary based on events, but employees receive their schedules in advance.
The right candidate brings recent restaurant or catering experience, works with energy and urgency, and genuinely enjoys feeding people.
Key Responsibilities
- Trim and prepare chicken, beef, and pork
- Grill meats consistently and safely
- Prepare sauces and other menu items
- Follow simple recipes and portioning instructions
- Cook for catered events and large groups
- Maintain pace, quality, and organization during busy shifts
- Follow directions and work effectively with the kitchen team
Qualifications
- Recent cooking experience in catering, banquet, or full-service restaurant environments
- Experience trimming and grilling chicken, beef, and pork
- Experience preparing sauces and following recipes
- Comfortable cooking in volume for groups
- Able to stand and work in a fast-paced kitchen for the entire shift
- Reliable, punctual, positive, and team-oriented
Experience from full-service, high-volume restaurants may transfer well. Fast-food experience alone will not meet the requirements for this position.
