Position Overview
A manufacturer of athletic facility equipment is hiring an experienced TIG and MIG Welder for its first-shift team. This position performs blueprint-based welding and fabrication on steel and aluminum components. Candidates must be comfortable setting up their own welds, producing watertight welds, and inspecting completed parts for quality and dimensional accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Review work orders and blueprints to determine job requirements
- Select the correct jig and set gas pressure, wire speed, and amperage
- Perform TIG and MIG welds on steel and aluminum
- Weld around pipe up to 8 inches and complete watertight welds
- Inspect finished pieces for defects and verify measurements
- Use cutting torches, welding equipment, and hand tools
- Weld in kneeling or hard-to-reach positions
- Complete ladder work and other fabrication duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous TIG and MIG welding experience
- Ability to read and work from blueprints
- Experience setting welding equipment and adjusting weld parameters
- Ability to produce clean, accurate, and watertight welds
- Steel and aluminum welding experience
- Strong attention to measurements, specifications, and weld quality
- Able to lift up to 70 pounds independently
- Comfortable climbing, kneeling, gripping tools, and performing repetitive motions
Equipment Used
TIG and MIG welders, cutting torch, welding jigs, tape measure, straightedges, ladders, and various hand tools.
