Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Transport Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team in Shreveport, LA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing refrigeration systems for transport vehicles, including trailers, trucks, and other refrigerated transport units. This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate, with the flexibility of an on-call schedule after regular business hours.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain transport refrigeration units in trailers and trucks.

Perform routine inspections of refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration systems and electrical components, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.

Work on both diesel and electric-powered refrigeration units.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards.

Respond to emergency service calls after hours and on weekends, as required.

Provide timely and accurate reports of services performed, including parts used and labor hours.

Assist with installation of new transport refrigeration units and perform upgrades when necessary.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Communicate with clients to provide updates on service progress and any necessary repairs or maintenance.

Follow proper procedures for handling refrigerants and other hazardous materials.
Qualifications:
-
Proven experience as a Transport Refrigeration Mechanic or in a similar refrigeration technician role.

Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, including electrical and mechanical components.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex refrigeration systems for transport vehicles.

Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Must be available to be on-call after hours and respond to emergency service requests.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

EPA certification for handling refrigerants is preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications in refrigeration or HVAC systems are a plus.
