Document Scanning Clerk

Location: Shreveport, LA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Status: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Hourly Rate: $13.00 – $14.00 per hour
Benefits: Excellent benefit package available after 90-day introductory period


Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Document Scanning Clerk to join our team. This role involves preparing, scanning, and indexing physical documents while ensuring accuracy, quality, and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Preparation: Prepare documents for scanning by removing staples, paper clips, and verifying documents are clean and undamaged. Organize documents in the correct order for scanning.

  • Scanning: Use scanning equipment to digitize physical documents, ensuring clarity and legibility of scanned images.

  • Quality Control: Review scanned documents for completeness and accuracy. Ensure scanned files match original documents.

  • Data Entry & Indexing: Accurately input document information into the document management system for organized retrieval.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor scanning equipment and report any technical issues promptly.

  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive documents securely and maintain the confidentiality of all data.

  • HIPAA Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect individually identifiable health information.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.

  • Cultural Contribution: Foster a positive work environment aligned with organizational values and productivity goals.

  • Time Management: Manage workload efficiently while staying focused and minimizing distractions.

  • Flexibility: Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training in office administration or information management is a plus.

  • Experience: Previous experience in document scanning, data entry, or records management preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with scanning equipment and document management systems; OCR experience is a plus.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and quality control.

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
