Deep Draw Transfer Press Operator (Direct Hire)

Shift / Schedule / Hours
- 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM 1st Shift: Monday-Friday
- * Transitioning schedule to 6:00 AM- 4:30 PM 1st shift Monday- Thursday
- No scheduled weekends; Mandatory overtime available during the week as production requires
Pay Rate
- $25.00 - $35.00/hour, based on experience

Position Summary
The Deep Draw Transfer Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing high-speed deep draw transfer presses used in the production of precision components. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, tooling knowledge, and the ability to maintain tight quality standards while maximizing production efficiency. The successful candidate will work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to minimize downtime, improve processes, and ensure world-class product quality.
Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Setup & Production
- Set up and operate deep draw transfer presses- US Baird's.
- Perform die changes, tooling setups, and mechanical machine adjustments as needed.
- Verify machine setup prior to production runs.
- Monitor machine performance throughout production to ensure quality and efficiency.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot press, tooling, and material flow issues.
- Perform mechanical adjustments to reduce downtime.
- Perform preventative maintenance on presses and tooling.
Quality Control
- Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and no-go gauges.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality throughout production.
Continuous Improvement
- Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams.
- Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience operating and or setting up and troubleshooting Deep Draw Transfer Presses.
- Strong understanding of transfer press operations and deep draw metal forming required.
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
Preferred
- Experience forming brass, copper, or other non-ferrous metals.
- Technical or trade school education.
