Ready to take your public accounting experience to the next level? This full-time role based in Red Wing, MN involves preparing complex tax returns, compiling financial statements, and supporting a diverse client base including individuals, businesses, farms, and nonprofits. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and have 3–5 years of public accounting experience. Bring your precision, problem-solving mindset, and client-first attitude—CPA credentials are a plus. The position offers a collaborative office environment, meaningful work, and opportunities for long-term career growth. Expect to work 55 hours per week during peak season (January–April), with flexible hours during the off season.

Pay

Responsibilities
- Tax Preparation: Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other types of tax returns
- Client Interaction: Interface with clients to review and apply accounting and tax principles.
- Accounting Procedures: Perform a range of accounting tasks across various industries.
- Financial Statements: Assist in preparing financial statements and conducting analytical reviews.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries accurately.
- Account Reconciliation: Analyze balance sheets and reconcile accounts.
- Sales & Payroll Tax: Compile and prepare both sales tax and payroll tax returns.
Skills and Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of public accounting experience.
- Experience with tax software (like UltraTax, ProConnect, or CCH Axcess).
- Knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Time management and project coordination during busy seasons.
