Job Full Description
An Injection Press Operator is responsible for setting up molds and operating injection presses to produce precision parts and letters used in signage manufacturing. This role involves filling hoppers, activating presses, trimming stems, inspecting finished products, and making minor equipment adjustments to ensure quality standards are met. Operators work in a clean, team‑oriented environment, often on a second shift, and collaborate with production leads to meet safety, performance, and inventory specifications. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adaptability are essential for success in this position.
Schedule
- 2nd Shift - Monday - Thursday 3:15pm-1:45am
- O/T as needed
Pay
- $21.36 - $27.92/hr.
- Weekly paychecks every Friday
Responsibilities
- Fill hoppers on injection presses with appropriate materials per work orders
- Activate presses and monitor letters being produced
- Produce parts in required quantities to meet customer orders and inventory levels
- Set up molds (letter, pad, and custom), making adjustments as needed
- Inspect pressed letters and molded parts for quality and consistency
- Operate slotter equipment to saw slots in letters
- Clip stems from letters and package finished products
- Monitor multiple hoppers to ensure sufficient plastic supply
- Replace drills or make minor adjustments on presses when required
- Record production units and report to lead or plant manager
- Maintain a neat, orderly work area and follow all safety protocols
Skills and Qualifications
- Attention to detail: Ensures letters and parts meet quality standards
- Mechanical aptitude: Understands mold setup and press operation
- Adaptability: Flexible to work in multiple production areas
- Teamwork: Collaborates effectively with department employees
- Time management: Meets production goals and shift deadlines
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required
- Experience: 0–2 years in manufacturing or machine operation (plastic manufacturing preferred)
