Job Full Description
An Injection Mold Set‑Up Technician is responsible for setting up Sentinel and Letter molds, establishing optimum machine process parameters, troubleshooting mold and machine problems, performing preventive maintenance, and operating injection presses for production and sample runs. This role also provides technical support on tool design and process control, ensuring all materials and auxiliary equipment are available and scheduled accordingly. Technicians work in a clean, team‑oriented environment, often on a second shift, and collaborate with management and engineering teams to meet safety, performance, and quality specifications. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adaptability are essential for success in this position.

- 2nd Shift - Monday - Thursday 3:15pm-1:45am
- O/T as needed
Pay
- $23.91 - $31.99/hr.
- Weekly paychecks every Friday
Responsibilities
- Set up molds in injection presses and perform process setups with proper documentation
- Program and adjust equipment (including robotic spruce pickers) to optimize efficiency and quality
- Troubleshoot and maintain molds, machines, and tooling; perform preventive maintenance
- Inspect and test products using ASTM methods to ensure quality standards are met
- Provide work direction to press operators and assembly personnel when needed
- Operate auxiliary equipment such as drill presses, cutters, milling machines, and welders
- Record production data and process parameters accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety protocols
Skills and Qualifications
- Adaptability and flexibility to work in multiple production areas
- Ability to learn and operate a variety of machines
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required
- Experience: 3–5 years in injection molding machine setup, robotic pickers, or related experience
- Preferred: 2‑Year Certificate in plastics or experience with plastic manufacturing
