Test Cell Technician II
Monday – Friday, 40-hour work week (overtime as necessary)
$26-$30/hour DOE
Day Shift
Reports To: Test Cell Manager and Production Floor Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Test Cell Technician II to join our propulsion testing department. In this role, you will help ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of our test cell facilities. You will play a key part in maintaining compliance with our AS9100 certification standards while supporting engine testing, troubleshooting, and process improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities

Perform a wide variety of test cell duties with minimal supervision.

Ensure all test stand services are performed safely, professionally, and on schedule.

Operate test equipment, including data acquisition systems, and accurately interpret data.

Monitor engine performance to ensure proper RPM, cylinder head temperature, fuel mixture, and other parameters.

Maintain and repair equipment and instrumentation at an advanced level.

Perform 50-hour maintenance, adjust timing, recognize fuel leaks, perform PTVs, and utilize LabVIEW, CO meters, throttle, generator load, and blower patterns as needed.

Troubleshoot malfunctions, determine root causes, and document corrective actions.

Install and correctly torque propellers.

Fuel and defuel engines.

Complete run logs and maintenance action forms accurately and on time.

Collaborate with colleagues, customers, and external clients to complete and document testing.

Resolve moderately complex questions or problems within the department and assist with implementing solutions.

Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline operations.

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with AS9100 standards.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
-
3–5 years of engine repair/building experience required.

Advanced experience installing, removing, operating, and repairing a variety of propulsion units.

Fully trained on fuel-injected engines.
-
Proficient in interpreting and using technical documentation.
-
Experience working to AS9100 standards preferred.
Essential Functions
-
Safely lift and carry heavy objects (with assistance as needed).

Work independently while meeting strict deadlines.

Remain in a stationary position for extended periods, alternating sitting and standing as needed.

Visually inspect assemblies and test stands for accuracy.

Perform repetitive motions such as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and stooping.

Perform fine hand manipulation, including handling both small and large objects.

Communicate clearly while maintaining a positive, polite, and cooperative attitude with coworkers, managers, customers, and vendors.
