Project Manager

Monday – Friday, 40-hour work week, Overtime as necessary  

DOE/Exempt 

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific projects within our organization.  This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.  The PM’s role will drive project success through effective management of resources, risks, and stakeholder communication throughout the project and product lifecycle from conceptual designs through engineering release, and into production release of documentation packages.  This role supports the continued production of the product. The PM will act as the liaison between the project technical lead(s) and the corresponding company to maintain excellent customer relations.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Identify project dependencies, critical path tasks, and level of effort driven resource requirements for labor and materials.

• Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables. Provide clear and concise direction, allocate tasks effectively, and ensure that the team members have the necessary resources to succeed.  

• Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with the internal and external project stakeholders including customer(s), internal teams, suppliers, and company leadership. Clearly communicate project status, challenges, and risks for successful completion of the project in a timely and transparent manner.  

• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes. Proactively monitor, track, and document project risks implementing contingency plans as needed.

• Budget and Resource Management: Develop and/or manage project budget while coordinating with engineering leadership to ensure expenditures are within approved limits. Coordinate the allocation of resources efficiently and optimize resource utilization throughout the project and/or product lifecycle.  

• Quality Assurance: Monitor and document project deliverables to ensure they meet the quality standards and customer requirements. Coordinate with the technical team and the Quality Department to implement any needed quality control measures and to routinely conduct reviews of the project for improvement opportunities.

• Communication and Reporting: Facilitate effective communication within the project team and with the project stakeholders accordingly. Prepare regular progress report, status updates, and presentations for project stakeholders and sponsors including internal company leadership.  

• Business Development: Assist in the development of product, concurrent, or follow on proposal documents and the cultivation of future sales opportunities with the appropriate business development personnel. 

 

Skills, Experience, and Aptitude:

The Project Manager will have experience with a strong track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budgets.  The role requires the ability to work under pressure managing multiple projects simultaneously.  The ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve their best is a must for this position.  Experience as a Project Manager and experience with Microsoft Project is required.  

A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or other related technical field and PMP is preferred.  The PM role is multi-dimensional with varying responsibilities. This position will interact with the technical team(s), internal stakeholders, and customers, requiring strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.  The PM may occasionally be asked to travel (both domestic and international) to meet project objectives.  

Essential Functions of the Job:

 • Safely lift and carry heavy objects with the help of another person if necessary.  

• Ability to work well independently and following strict adherence to deadlines.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout the day alternating sitting and standing as necessary.   • Perform repetitive movement such as pushing, pulling, bending, some twisting and stooping.  

• Perform fine hand manipulation including handling small and large objects.

• Ability to communicate clearly and be positive, polite, and cooperative with co-workers, managers, customers and vendors.
