Job Full Description
Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 5:00pm
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00/HR
Duties:
- Safely operate a Class A CDL tractor-trailer on dedicated recycling routes throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, and Michigan.
- Transport and deliver loads in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
- Perform drop-and-hook deliveries, which make up approximately 80% of loads.
- Complete live load and live unload deliveries, accounting for approximately 20% of loads.
- Safely back into docks and maneuver equipment in customer and warehouse locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any equipment concerns.
- Utilize a smartphone and transportation apps for communication, routing, and delivery documentation.
- Maintain accurate logs, paperwork, and delivery records.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers and receiving personnel.
- Keep the truck clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A CDL required.
- Previous Class A CDL driving experience preferred.
- Safe driving record with a commitment to safety and compliance.
- Experience with drop-and-hook freight and dock backing preferred.
- Ability to operate a Freightliner tractor-trailer.
- Comfortable using a smartphone and mobile applications for work-related tasks.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to repeatedly enter and exit the truck cab throughout the workday.
