Job Full Description
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 5:00am - 3:00pm
Pay: $27.00 - $34.00/HR
Duties:
- Set up and operate CNC machines, mills, lathes, and related machining equipment to produce quality parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, models, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
- Visualize and manufacture parts from blueprints, rough sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Select tooling, fixtures, and machine settings to achieve required dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production records and follow established quality procedures.
- Work cooperatively with team members to support production schedules and continuous improvement efforts.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Learn new machining techniques and processes through on-the-job training and observation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a skilled machinist and completion of a recognized machinist apprenticeship program, or 3 years of experience as a skilled machinist.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, and specifications.
- Strong math skills, including working with measurements, fractions, decimals, and tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to safely operate CNC machinery, manual machines, and related equipment.
- Ability to identify quality concerns and make necessary machine adjustments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
