Receiving & Inventory Control Specialist
Location: Bloomington, IL
Pay: $16.50–$18.00 per hour, based on experience

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Receiving & Inventory Control Specialist to support our Materials team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining efficient stockroom operations, and supporting production through effective material control and inventory management.
What You'll Do
Receiving
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Validate part numbers, quantities, lot codes, and quality requirements.
- Process receipts accurately within the ERP system.
- Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies.
- Label and distribute received materials to the appropriate locations.
Inventory Control
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts.
- Compare physical inventory to ERP system records.
- Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Identify root causes of inventory variances.
- Assist with physical inventory activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and material flow.
- Maintain organized and accurate inventory records.
Documentation & Systems
- Complete ERP transactions accurately and on time.
- Maintain inventory traceability and documentation.
- Prepare paperwork for returns, nonconforming materials, and other stockroom activities.
Qualifications
Required
- 1–2 years of receiving, warehouse, stockroom, or material handling experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Experience with barcode scanners and basic computer applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet throughout the day.
- Strong communication skills and a dependable work ethic.
Preferred
- EMS or electronics manufacturing experience.
- Experience with cycle counting and inventory control.
- Knowledge of FIFO, lot control, date code verification, and material traceability.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, or 5S principles.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse setting.
- Frequent walking, standing, lifting, reaching, and moving materials.
- Daily interaction with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Shipping, and Stockroom teams.
