Our client has a great opportunity for a Buyer with experience manufacturing!
We are looking for a Senior Buyer for our best client in Lake County! The Senior Buyer develops and maintains a supplier base that support the Company's direction and requirements for quality, lead time, and cost. We are looking for someone to source components and products both domestically and internationally.
*TEMPORARY ROLE- until April 2026 with the possibility of becoming long term*
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies.
- Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers, especially for new product development.
- Seek alternate vendors to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Positively manage vendor performance and communications.
- Responsible for monthly forecasting and daily inventory analysis
- Cost Analysis – Bids, RFQs and price impact evaluations
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management and supply chain activities is a must.
- College degree in a business field preferred. APICS training and certification a plus.
- Must be results oriented.
- Must have worked with an ERP/MRP system.
- Must be proficient in the use of Excel, Word and other MS office products.
- Must be accustomed to working with product management and engineer staffs
